Currently, Gary Honabach is the Technology Systems Administrator for Bloomsburg School District. He has worked in the technology field for 30+ years. After attending DeVry Institute of Technology, he worked in various positions in the technology field. In June of 1998 he was hired by Wise Snacks, at the time a 675 million dollars in sales company. My primary responsibility was to convert various accounting systems over for the Y2K project. After the conversion was complete, I was moved into Systems Administration and was responsible for support and training of sales reporting systems, mail systems, backup and recovery, domain systems, network, and top level support for all Help Desk issues. In November of 2002 I joined Bloomsburg School District as the only technician responsible for support of all devices in the district. In 2006 I moved into the Technology Systems Administrator responsible for all aspects of the District’s Information Technology strategies, polices, services, projects, budget, software, and hardware. Since my time at Bloomsburg we have added and maintain a Microsoft Domain with Active Directory, SCCM, SQL, Exchange, HyperV, Office 365, and other management systems. We are one of the few districts in the state to implement Microsoft Surface Pro 3 devices for 1:1 in our High School. With this implementation we have evaluated all aspects of being a 1:1 school, from creating/modifying polices and evaluating hardware/network resources to planning Professional Development for both staff and students.
